I did an 8 race tourney with the 12 cars I had at the time. Mostly to learn how to play and stratagies.

For this I did just the two short tracks, the 05 track and the 06 track (Martinsville maybe?). I did 6 cars each race and followed all of the short track rules.

Each driver ran 4 races, two on each track with random starting orders.

Many cars are generic, with useless abilities on the short tracks. I did not allow multi drafting but will in the future.

Winners of the 8 races in no particular order was : #25 Vickers, #97 Busch won two races, #5 from 2005 Kyle Busch, #16 Greg Biffle, #24 from 2006 Jeff Gordon won two, and #20 Tony Stewart.

Interesting Data -

In 7 of the 8 races only 3 of 6 cars finished, and 4 in the other race. To just finish the race became the main concern.

Starting position -

Pole 1 had 1st,4th,6,4,3,1,2
Pole 2 had 4,2,1,1,1,1,2,3
Pole 3 had 5,5,5,2,5,5,5,1
Pole 4 had 2,6,2,5,3,6,4,5
Pole 5 had 6,1,3,6,6,4,6,6
Pole 6 had 3,3,4,3,2,2,3,4

So pole 2 was the best (first 4 results were Martinsville), Pole 3 the worst, although it won the last game. Pole 5 looked pretty bad. So in these crowded scenarios, Poles 2,4, and 6 are better than 1,3, and 5, and Pole 3 is potentially a big disater.

I you give 0 points for a win, 2 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, 4 for 4th, etc, the rankings of my cars were (all cars from 2005 except 2):

1) #01 Nememchek promo car 10 points (no wins though)
2) #97 Busch 10 points - 2 wins
3T) #5 Kyle Busch - 11 points 1 win not bad for a bad Frosted Flakes car
3T) #20 Stewart - 11 points - 1 win
5) #5-2006 Kyle Busch - 12 points
6) #25 Vickers - 12 points - 1 win
7) #24-2006 Gordon - 12 points -2 wins but 2 lasts on early crashes
8) # #48 Johnson - 15 points
9) #19 Mayfield - 16 points
10) #16 Biffle - 16 points - 1 win
11) #99 Edwards - 17 points
12) #18 Labonte - 18 points

So it seems like due to crashes any car can win. But once things cleared up a bit, the fast cars won. The abilities generally were more important than car stats. Tony Stewart adding to roll is tough. Kurt Busch rerolling Stand On it's is dominant until he takes an enging damage.
Generally the reroll cruise result of Gordon and Vickers etc. are excellent.

Biffle had the good all 4 stat card and should have done better. But he had bad luck and would take an engine damage with a roll of 2 or 3 on his first try often. I think he had the worst luck.

Next I will run all 12 guys on the big tracks.
