I was going for sarcastic, witty, or fun. I guess I'll take that though.

I have a rules question. Why are all the pages in the rules page 2?

To fit with the joke that I was too busy procrastinating too proofread or define a complete ruleset.

I've got all the bits cut and I will be playing this tomorrow at work. Anyone willing to play, too? We can compete for a high score?

The entry deadline for the 2013 Solitaire Print and Play Contest is Midnight (MST) October 5th. Will this game be complete by that time? If not, the game will be removed from the entry list but will be eligible to be entered in next year's contest.

Thanks! I hope to see more about this game soon!

My favourite part of the rules is: "Total your score up and see if it's a cool number."

...the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a far green country under a swift sunrise.

Awesome, this is like Calvinball in boardgame form. You know this is the kind of thing where you create a site (or a BGG entry?) that people upload their pictures of their "successes" (although failures might be funnier).

What numbers do you think are cool? I like numbers that have 2's in them...

Honestly it did feel not really like a solo game in that the actual fun would be to "play" with another person and see what creative ideas you both could come up with. Now that this has received a bit of attention again I'd like to invite anyone to play and share their results.

Calvinball the boardgame.... Interesting, very interesting...

Here is 5 I drew randomly. I didn't really get anything too difficult and was able find them all in a few minutes.

Score:
1 point for hopefully the only mouse you will find in an office
+4 points for combining two of the pictures into six coins
+1 point for a basic bag that I use to haul my laptop around
x4 for having all four objects in one picture
=24 points SWEEEEET!

3 points for this creative answer for a mask (this is the cube wall that I use to mask my BBG surfing from coworkers.

GRAND TOTAL ====== 27
RESULTS ========== Everything will now come your way. http://www.wisdomportal.com/JS/RandomFortunes.html

That's putting me on the spot. 171 was always a favourite. Absolutely hate 58 though; that so-called number should not be allowed.

I was so lazy I didn't even print and cut out the tiles. I used two random functions to generate pairs of numbers: the first one from 1 to 14, the second one - from 1 to 16. I ran it 5 times and checked which tiles they represented.

I got:

quite an easy set, at least some of them.

And off I went.
1. The dice was easy, because I always carry dice with me. Here is my die with the 1 Player Podcast Logo:

2. Next I photographed my tea mug with "Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse" instructions:

3. The paper was easy. There are always papers lying about in the office:

4. The Band-aid meant I had to get up and walk. To the kitchen. There is a first aid kit (without band-aids inside: negative points):

5. The pawn was the most tricky. I thought I would fail, but I remembered my colleague has some painted soldiers!

I calculated the points:
1a. +1 for the die
1b. +3 for always having dice
1c. +5 for boardgame related dice branding
2. +1 for mug
3. 0 - too easy
4a. +2 for bothering to stand up
4b. +1 for photo
4c. -4 for missing band-aids
5a. +3 for waiting until colleague leaves his desk
5b. +3 for taking a sneaky picture
5c. -2 for bad picture quality

Grand total: 13

unlucky...

I would have "adjusted" my score to not be so unlucky... ninja

Thanks a lot for playing. I do like your randomizer idea much more than the annoying work of cutting those all out and cluttering up my desk drawer. This makes me wonder what sort of effort would be required to set up a site that would randomly choose a set of icons each day and allow people to upload their pictures. I imagine the worst of it would be needing the space for all the picture storage. Although there are already other sites on the internet that do that.

But this is BGG. This game requires a Vassal module
