If you have Facebook, then you should check out Derby On Board Games

https://www.facebook.com/groups/344830812223887/

I haven't been, but I know a few people who go and have only heard good things. They meet on the last Wednesday of the month in the Bean Caffe.

There are a few people from Derby that come and play at Spirit Games in nearby Burton Upon Trent, from 7pm until Midnight on Wednesdays and also from 1200 on the second Sunday of the month.

Chris.

As Chris said:

- Bean Caffe on the last Wednesday of every month.

- The Furnace, which takes place on Thursdays (think it's the third Thursday of the month.

- New Zealand arms, every Monday evening.

If you look at the below link and go to find a club, it lists all clubs that are part of the Gaming Club Network.
http://www.gamingclubnetwork.co.uk/

Hope this helps.

This looks a great organisation - a service that games clubs have to pay to join, for unspecified benefits, with links that don't work. I've never heard of them before today and the list of about 10 clubs on the page in the link doesn't indicate a lot of other clubs know or care about this service.

Alternatively you could look at The UK FAQ on BGG which is comprehensive, free and updated by anyone who has new information and the inclination to add it.

http://boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/UK_faq

Also in Derby there's MidCon, 8th-10th November, one of the big events of the boardgames year in Britain. Details at the end of the FAQ.

LOL, not sure where u looking, but there is around 140 clubs part of this throughout the country.
Tell me a page where links not working.
There is also interaction between clubs organizing games and comps, through Facebook.
Before u slate them like u did, better off finding more info on it.

Depending on the type of games you like, this group may be of interest: http://derbywargamessociety.com/about-dws/

There's a word "you" that you might find be useful in communications.

The link to GamingClub Network on the page you mentioned shows the error message "cannot be displayed in a frame" when I try to use it (Opera on Android).

Thanks for the advice on how to get organise my comments, but I foolishly thought that an organisation that was linking games clubs and charging for the service might be better advertised, or get in touch with games club organisers like me, or have a navigable home page.

I notice a lack of presence on BGG, and a Google search indicates it seems to be a way of linking games groups connected with Games Workshop. Correct me if I'm wrong about that, but if that is correct then perhaps a mention of this upfront would save people who aren't interested in GW or their games wasting time.

GCN was initially started by GW, but then broke away from them over a year ago.
I do not have anything to do with the managing of GCN, I was only linking to it.
GCN is mainly about wargames, but alot of the clubs in my area are starting to get into boardgames.

Anyway....back to the actual question.

I can't recommend the guys and gals over at Derby on Board games enough - they are a lovely bunch of people, catering to all types and styles of games.
