Sometime between now and 2378, though going on how AoO was delayed, that last date could prove too opimistic.

Here's what's been said lately on ConsimWorld:

Brian Youse - Feb 25, 2006:

>> What is the latest on ASLSK#3? Any project
>> date for it to go up on pre-order?
>
> I expect quite a few games will go on P# within about two weeks...

Brian Youse - Mar 16, 2006:

>> I hope that ASLSK#3 will be available for pick-up
>> at Origins this year like ASLSK#2 was last year.
>
> That's the plan.

As of 12th of September (at SZO) we were told that they still need to playtest two scenarios to get them ready and stuff. Then there's printing.

Before christmas still, though.

Probably the same week Combat Comander, BattleLore, and a few other must have games are released. My Visa Card is quivering in anticipation lol.

So thought I would post an update about the status of ASLSK 3. Last night (or maybe it was early this morning) Brian and Perry finished the layout for the box top and back as well as all the counter sheets. Today they go to the printers. If I recall what Brian told me it takes 4 weeks for the printers to do counter sheets and boxes.

It is looking more and more like ASLSK 3 ships before the end of the year. Now if I could just finish those last two scenarios! Actually, I think the playing that I ran through last night is showing that one of the two is done. So that leaves one last scenario, the rules and the playaids to be finalized and sent to the printers. Apparently paper printing does not take as long as cardboard printing. So the long lead time stuff has gone out already.

Golly... you'd almost think people were eager for this or sumthin'

***

The last word was that they are clearing space in their offices for the arrival of ASLSK1 and ASLSK3 parts (the two games are being printed together). As I recall, the maps have been done for some time, and the counters and boxes are being printed now.

They wanted to wrap-up public proofing of the ASLSK3 rulebook – where they send out copies of the rules to various players for a last read-through to catch any final errors or problems – by last weekend. My guess is that there is still a good chance these two games could be shipping before Christmas, but we'll see.

I had an opportunity to proofread the final draft of the rules, so I will say that I really like how they have handled the armor rules in ASLSK3: beginners won't miss what's been left out, and what's included should make for a heck of a game!

Man, over the years I acquired the habit of not watching movie trailers and not reading PC game magazines because I hated the feeling of anticipation for something I couldn't experience. This, Combat Commander, and BattleLore have my stomach in knots. And now to hear that the armor rules are indeed awesome... *swoon*

It is getting closer. I promise. I want it out also. I think that you will like all the scenarios. I don't have a specific date. I can tell you that not everything has gone to the printers yert, but the parts that have not are just the paper parts which takes less time.

Well, we have some good news and some bad news.

Good news. The counters for ASLSK#1 and ASLSK#3 came in last week. They look fantastic. Wonderfully crisp, best die cut we've seen to date. Just great.

Bad news. They're printed on the wrong material.

The printer is already working on a reprint. Should be a few more weeks, probably. Sorry, folks.

ASLSK#1 Reprint counters to be shipped on/before 1/24. Once these are in we begin collating and its available again.

ASLSK#3 once counters arrive we're waiting on just the rulebook and charts. Approximately two-three weeks after we receive counters.

Of the projects i'm most involved in which are roughly next in line...

ASL Journal #8 playtesting is underway. Anticipated late summer (probably not)/early fall release depending on playtesting (hint, hint).

Valor Of The Guards Once ASLSKs are done, my full attention goes on finishing up layout on this. Right now our goal is Origins for release. We hope to reach that goal, of course.

Few Returned is being printed with Valor of the Guards, its only scenario layout and a wrap so I don't anticipate any problems here. So our goal for this is Origins.

On ConsimWorld, MMP has said that the rules go to the printer today or tomorrow, will take a week or so to get. At that point, they will collate and ship as all the other parts are in hand.
