The rule on page 19 says that Mr. Jack wins, if:
After an Appeal to Witnesses, he has at least six hourglasses between the turn tokens and those of any Alibi cards acquired during the course of the game.
I always interpreted "during the course of the game" to include the initial card chosen. I can see now that that was a wrong interpretation.
But I like your attitude of liking the uphill battle and I shall simply change my attitude to match yours. I think that is the right approach to this wonderful game. Thanks for responding.
