I got this email from Zman this morning, in response to my "yellow ooze" problem I emailed them about in mid-August:

Thank you for contacting us regarding your Clash of Cultures issue

Last week, we finally received replacement parts from our Chinese manufacturer.

So, last Monday, we have mailed you the following replacement part : a set of yellow miniatures

According to Canada Post, a delivery to USA takes an average of 3 weeks to reach its destination. We apologize for the inconveniences caused by this issue.

Thanks for the heads up. While I cleaned my figures, I've emailed them for replacements. There's no reason to believe they won't continue oozing.

... Aaaaand it was waiting for me in my mailbox when I got home. Wow. They said 3 weeks, but it took 4 days since they said they mailed it on Monday.

Edit: Actually, the email said they mailed it "last Monday" which technically could have meant Monday of las week -- 11 days ago. Regardless, it was certainly faster than 3 weeks.

How are they? Nice?

I guess we won't know for six months but since they think they know what went wrong and believe they've fixed it, in my mind there's no reason to think there will be any problems this time around. Glad they worked it out.

Well my camera was misbehaving, but I can tell you that there's no huge difference between the pieces. The colors match exactly (or as well as my eye can discern). The spear shaft is a little bit thinner on the units. Also, the sails for the boat do not stay in the holes. I'm not sure if the pegs are smaller, or maybe the boat holes are bigger, but they're really floppy when they're in place. They'll have to be glued.

Aside from those minor quibbles, they look fine. Time will tell if the yellow ooze reappears, but for now they're fine. Thanks to ZMan for resolving the issue, as I'm sure it's been a big headache for them as well.

Yeah just checked my pieces... Sure enough, same
problem! It looks like some sort of oil base film... Pretty bad
at any rate..!

Just emailed and looking forward for the Replacement

Really?

I haven't heard anything back yet, and I emailed them the day the OP was posted. I received a generic:
"Thank you for contacting customer service. We are in receipt of your request and will get to it as soon as possible. We will respond to your message within a period of 1 to 2 weeks."

It hasn't been 2 weeks, but your post makes me anxious...

Wow, its been months for me with nothing so far. I did get after a lot of emails and waiting a response that they were looking into it, but that's it. soblue

They have the weirdest customer service, some people get great help, others nothing or super late.

I just got replacement pieces today.

I was prepared for it to take a couple weeks from canada, but that didn't come to pass.

The pieces look as good as the other ones did new so I think I can safely believe they are from another print run. In 6 months, I guess we'll know if the formula was improved.

If you got the email, I would be patient...

I got the same email as you got from Z-man and it came within 5 days.
The units are fine, have the same sculpt and I did not see any ooze from them. They seem to be made of a different materiel...a bit less flexible.
I received all the yellow units: buildings and armies. Not sure the original buildings ooze but the armies surely did.

I can look back through my e-mail records: I have only one e-mail chain with Z-Man, from about 2 weeks ago for about a week.

This past Tuesday, I received replacement yellow pieces.

Either yesterday (Wednesday) or today (Thursday)—I didn't get up to the post office yesterday so I'm not sure—I received another package from Z-Man.

I just opened it. It was a second replacement set of yellow pieces.

Z-Man, there may be a reason you send out more replacement parts than you sell games.
