A fellow gamer was mentioning that all deck builders use the 10 card, 5 card per round system, always drawing your entire deck in two rounds. I told him I recently played one that has a 12 card starting deck yet you only draw 5 cards per round like Dominion.

I can't remember which game it was though. Any ideas?

I'm not sure how many you start with, but you don't typically draw your whole starting deck in two rounds in Core Worlds.

Sounds like Thunderstone. You are supposed to draw six cards a turn however, so it still sort of keeps to the model of drawing half of your starting deck.

In Core Worlds, you draw up to 6 cards, or up to 7 the last two turns. But that doesn't fit your description either.

I've never played Core Worlds, and I haven't played Thunderstone in years.

Thanks for the responses so far.

Arcana? I only played it once so it could be wrong. At least I seem to remember that the factions are slightly different.

Nightfall you start with 12 (2 of 6 colors) cards in your deck and only draw 5 cards a turn normally.

Eminant Domain doesn't make you discard your hand, so you don't go through your deck in the first 2 turns unless you choose to.

(I've only played this once, and it has been a while. I'm fairly certain that is the rule though.)

Any hints? What was the theme?

In 3012 you start with only 4 cards in your deck and draw the whole thing on the first turn.

In Core Worlds you start with 16 cards and draw 6 per turn.

In Briefcase you start with 12 cards and draw 4 per turn.

I bet it's Nightfall.

Ascension: Deckbuilding Game used the standard 10-card, 5-draw system like Dominion, up until the Ascension: Rise of Vigil expansion, which introduced an 11th card to the starting deck.

It's Night Fall. I knew it was something I hadn't played in a little while, but simply couldn't remember.

Thank you all.
