I've got 3rd edition (rated: 9)
I enjoyed it for 20 years. A great strategic system game, where fog of war is well represented when armies move.
The best 3 players game I've never played.

I've seen the new edition...less units, modified fire factors, new rules...I haven't words!

I think 3rd edition could be improved, not changed!

What do you think?

Some specifics for your discussion,

The 4th edition of Napoléon will contain the following upgrades from previous editions:

Deluxe Mounted Mapboard, 22" x 25".

Large 24mm hardwood blocks as found in our games Hammer of the Scots and Crusader Rex. All new artwork.

Two color copies of the rules per game. Both copies will be signed and numbered.

Larger tactical maps.

Two Order of Battle Charts. The Order of Battle is similar to that found in the first and second editions, but has added historical corps ID.

8 quality dice (4 red and 4 blue).

Note, we still have some reduced price KS Deluxe 4th editions on hand.

Thanks

Components are for your eyes...
It does not interest me to have colorful dices (I have some approximately 400), nor the rigid map (I have enlarged the original to 200%), other components could be copied for each player...

I prefer a very good game system than a beautiful components but a poor game ("Battles of Napoleon: The Eagle and the Lion" docet).

As someone who has never seen this game and didn't see the KS, what does this mean? What is a "deluxe" edition?

The NWS page for Napoleon does not list two editions. It also makes it sound like it is still on pre-order.

Thanks

I'm on the fence about this one, especially which edition to get (4th vs. 3rd). It would be great to read more comparisons between both editions to help us decide.

Thanks!
