Hikaru Sulu (Federation 3)

Worf (Federation 3)
Corbomite Maneuver (Federation 3)

I am currently very set on the build, which means I wil eventually hate it and redo it before the next OP event.

I'm considering something like this for OP month 2.

U.S.S. Defiant (Federation 24)
Jean-Luc Picard (Federation 6)
Mr. Spock (Federation 5)

Federation Defiant (Federation 22)
James T. Kirk (Federation 6)
Data (Federation 3)

Federation Defiant (Federation 22)
Christopher Pike (Federation 4)
Hikaru Sulu (Federation 2)

Elite Attack Die (5)
Total Point Cost: 99

Thankfully my FLGS are running OP events late in the month, so hopefully the Defiant will be out by then.

I may trade the EAD for the Command Tokens, depending on exactly how they function. Right now this is all a WIP.

For month 1:

Klingon D7 (Klingon 16)

Kraxon (Dominion 26)

I.K.S. Negh'var (Klingon 30)

I.K.S. Maht-H'A (Klingon 28)

Total Point Cost: 100

(All 0-point captains, obviously)

Plan was to send two ships to DS9 and beam over captains while the other two engaged the enemy directly.

So far I've used this build in 3 OP Month 1 events. I won 2 of the events, and came in 2nd to still win the Ferengi.

Here's my fleet:

Negh'var with Martok-35 pts
Vor'cha with Donatra and Drex- 35 pts
Vor'cha with Gowron- 30 pts

Total:100 pts

Basic idea is to fly in formation receiving bonus attack dice from Donatra's passive ability and Gowron's action, while using Martok to allow either Gowron or Donatra's ship to capitalize on target locks.

My only losses were to a Dominion build (2 Galor, 1 Breen) and a a Romulan (1 Valdore, 1 Apnex, 1 Khazara). In the battle against the Dominion, I let the Breen ship get in t0o close and use its energy dissapators to cripple my ships two turns in a row leading to quick Dominion win. I compensated in later matches against Dominion by moving my Klingon fleet much more slowly and deliberately allowing them to take out the Breen ship with multiple target locks at range 2-3.

The battle against the Romulan was a much closer defeat. My opponent had multiple save effects on his ships, (Varel and Interphase Generator) which allowed him to survive my initial shock charge and maneuver into a better position. Ultimately, it was still a close fight and came down to the timer running out with both me and my opponent having 1 ship left. He won by a mere 4 fleet points, but I was able to rebound in the next round and win the tourney. So it pretty much came down to luck.

All in all after 2 victories, and 1 silver medal, I think this is a pretty solid, well balanced build.

It entirely depended on what the opponent did.
* One opponent engaged the two ships, allowing me to get control of the station and then swing around. I won that (with the bonus for controlling DS9)

* Second game, I rolled badly and he got control of the station, so I blew it up. That one came down to a few final rolls and I lost. (Close enough that I don't mind)

* Third game I have to take the blame for poor positioning (and bad dice rolling) - I walked myself through entirely too many minefields.

In retrospect (and now understanding how stupidly easy it is to prevent usage of the station in the scenario), I would have kept the fleet together and leveraged the superior firepower.

Pike is a bit of a waste here, though. Unless you are deliberately going for 99 points you might be better served with someone like Kira or Sisko.

I'm realizing that now. I thought Pike reduced all crew upgrades by 1 pt, but apparently it's only on his ship.

- Enterprise D w/ Picard, Engage, Data, Proton Torpedoes and O'Brien
- Miranda class w/ generic TNG captain and anti-proton mines
- constitution class w/ Riker, Worf and photon torpedoes

It's a revision over my first attempt at a TNG Federation list. I'm hoping to try it out tonight.

...but...Picard will not cloak first because he has the highest captain rating in the game which means everyone else will move (and cloak) before he does...

I ran something similar but with other Romulan ship. I put advanced weapons on negh'Var and rom ship. In my opinion it's they way to go if you are running cloaked ships.

Yeah yeah yeah, the original build was Picard Shoots First so I call this one Picard Cloaks First, even though he cloaks last.

Maybe if Lt. "John Luck Pikard" were in command he'd cloak first?

My 1st months build,Romulan
Ship: Khazara-30pts
captain: Donatra-4pts
crew: Tactical Officer-3pts
talent:Counter Attack-3pts
tech: Advance Weapon System-6pts
weapon: plasma Torp-5pts
Ship: Negh'Var-30pts
Captain: Martock-5pts
Crew: Sulu-4pts
tech: Advance weapon System-5pts
weapon: Photon torps +1 on Negh'Var-5pts
My idea was to keep ships cloaked with Advanced weapon system get +1 from Donatra and extra action from Martock.

I am still trying to decide on 2nd Op event.

My Month 1 build was...

Enterprise D W/ Picard and Spock

Khazara W/ Donatra and All Forward Disruptor Banks

Gr'oth W/ Martok

Just flew in formation and focus fired my enemies down one ship at a time. Didn't even look at DS9 unless I needed to blow it up. Ended up with 201 points and a 4th place finish. Not horrible. My one loss was to the person who took the event (330 points).

On a side note. Pulling a double reverse with the Khazara and E-D threw more than one opponent. It's worth the Aux Power token to completely throw off a player who hard left/rights thinking they are going to get behind the E-D and its lack of turns.

Thinking I may alter this list and swap out AFDB for Sulu, and put him on the Gr'oth to give it a bit more survivability.

Just finished my first month 1 OP, running 2 and 1 with a respectable 232 points at the end (lost to a player running 2x Negh'Vars and a Vor'Cha, only blowing up the Vor'Cha at the very end of the game):

Miranda Class 24
-Clark Terrell
-Photon Torpedoes

Enterprise D 45
-Jean-Luc Picard
-Mr. Spock
-Hikaru Sulu
-Pavel Chekov

USS Reliant 31
-William T Riker
-Kyle
-Photon Torpedoes

Chekov was lightly used, but appreciated in the game, while I didn't get a chance to use Kyle at all (I was always either re-enabling Torpedoes or acquiring target locks), so I may swap them out for something else if I run this build again (probably Scotty on the Reliant to give 6 attack at range one or 7 on a Torpedo run). On the other hand, the two games I won were a commanding victory, so I'm not too disappointed in this list's performance. And I'll let you all know how my Klingon list runs at the next event.

Got 3rd place with this pure rom build, could have maybe got second if I'd not made a daft mistake and turned left instead of right in one game.

just back from the first op event here i came first with a beardy list that relied on the min max of dice per turn for att and def on one ship i won all my games with out loosing a ship and taking ds9 in every one and leaving my opponent tpk'd scoring a respectable 327 fleet points for the day.

the list used was

Ship1 I.K.S. Negh'var
Captain Captain Jean-Luc Picard
Advanced Weapon System
Mr. Spock
Ship2 U.S.S. Enterprise-D
Captain Captain Donatra
Khikaru Sulu
Ship3 R.I.S. Apnex
Captain Captain Clark Terell

plan was to never take ds9 well that didnt work !! but to have dontra and terell follow picard closely supporting him where needed.

high light of the day 2nd game one shotting kirk iin the enterprise turn 2

[3 attack (w/o PSF) | 1 defense | 3 hull | 1 shield]

Build 2: (99 total points)
I.K.S. Negh'Var (6)
Jean-Lu Picard (7) [Includes 1 point faction penalty]
Advanced Weapon System (5)
[5 attack | 5 defense (w/cloak) | 6 hull | (3 shields w/o cloak)]

Advanced Weapon System (5)

Klingon Battlecruiser - D7 Class (16)
Klingon (1)
Projected Stasis Field (5)
[3 attack (w/o PSF) | 1 defense | 3 hull | 1 shield]

I played two different OP Month 1 tournaments. I used the two variants above to win each tournament (with some luck, of course).

The objective with both builds was to have the D7 beam aboard the single captain onto DS9, and avoid the pylons firing arch. Meanwhile the other two ships cloak and engage the opponents fleet. The D7 re-joined the fleet and used its projected stasis field ("PSF") before being blown up by the opponent.

My D7 only blew up once in both tournaments before firing the PSF. Except for the one time, I used PSF to disable the shields of the biggest threat (which prohibits the target ship from attacking for one round!). I then fired on the target ship with my two ships remaining ships.
