I have done a search but can't find anything about a game I used to play as a child. It was part of a compendium of games in the late 70s early 80s. The game has a board layed out in a grid like snakes and ladders without the snakes and ladders. Each square was a type of terrain eg. mountains, swamp, river, etc. and you had to collect cards that matched the terrain that you wanted to move across. You would then play the cards to move.

Anyone else remember this game ?

The compendium had other games like fox and hound, solitare, the 'L' game, etc.

Interesting. The game Castle Merchants has mechanics similar to this. You play cards to either place terrain on the board, and/or play a card to move through any number of the same type of terrain.
