The day before yesterday "Star shield Andor" arrived in the mail.
After rallying the regular crowd yesterday evening it hit the table.

Star shield Andor is an expansion of Legends of Andor.
It is basically just one more legend. But as there are 5 different set-ups, 6 different royal tasks, 6 dark threats and 4 different ways to try to get the star shield. Only one of each of these is used in one different session. For the resulting number of different legends please see the maths teacher of your child.gulp Yes and you can take only 3 of the 4 magical items.

1st session:
The four heroes took the fighting horned hawk, the willpower providing flute and the hour glass which provides 3 additional hours once per day.
The setup crowded the board with creatures. The royal task for us was chucking wood to repair the castle's gate.
The first few creatures fell and on C the dark threat decloaked: The siege-tower.
This was the situation on the board at that time:

Non the less we probably were still celebrating the FREE magical items and tried to come to grips with the situation so we flunked. We missed a creature chain and with a deliberate Gor a Troll entered the castle also. surprise Beginner's mistake! OMFG Game over at D!!

Lessons learned:
New dangers do not replace old ones, they add up!
Hour glass: Never leave home without it.
Horned hawk: Very good due to double function.
Flute: Good.

OK, reboot, it's not over until the fat lady

2nd session:
The four basic heroes took the horned hawk, the flute and the hour glass.
The setup seeded the board with fewer but more dangerous creatures. The new royal task for us was to rope in the AWOL prince. The new dark threat was the temple of evil. This time the start was running more smoothly.

However the combination of "no reward" and "paying the royal booze and bust tabs" was making this not easier. OTOH the turbo charged siege tower would have been no cake walk either.
Later than I was comfortable with we could tackle the tark tower.
Before we tamed the wolves (+6 STR), repoed the star shield, and hauled the royal future of the kingdom in his throne room via hero relay. Oh yes, and rescued two farmers.
Standing at the foot of the three-story temple tower we had a basic strength of 21 + 6, willpower to the max, two helmets, a semi witch potion, the runestones, and two herbs. Tally ho!angry

Three hours later one herb was left and only very small rubble of the evil real estate. Gotcha!devil

Lessons learned:
Et cetera censeo to always take the hour glass.
Let the mage from now on tame the wolves.
Mushrooms are a dwarf's best friends.
Do not put your trust in princes. whistle
