Subject: Software Question (how to automate something) rss

I think a few people her know how to do something like the following:

1. Open excel spreadsheet
2. Open website (EDIT _ Which require username/password)
3. Copy a specific cell (from excel)
4. Paste to area in website
5. Execute websites function
6. Report back findings
7. Repeat on next cell (in excel) until done


If someone could point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.

Well, if you knew what backend call the website is making(e.g. REST, XML), you can easily use Perl to open and excel spread sheet, read a specific cell, and then do an XHR call to the web app with the right data content.
