I often click Board Games (Wargames) to see a display of stuff to read.

There are certain forums that appear, however, that I have no interest in reading, or seeing.

Is there a way to hide certain forums from your view so you never see stuff from them?

Thanks.

If you go into "Edit Front Page" you can select which modules you want to appear on your front page.

I guess the answer is "no".

If I add Wargames, for example, but don't want to see endless topics from "Star Trek: Attack Wing," is there no way to hide that forum so I can see other, more relevant wargame forum posts?

If you go into that game's page you can try Subscribe > Block. That might do it.

The question has been asked before. (And yes, you've figured out the right answer.)

So no you can't hide certain records from the browse (front page) view. Block simply blocks subscriptions; it doesn't impact the browse overview. Edit front page will give you the ability to edit the modules but clearly 'wargames' will include some records that you don't have any interest in.

Subscribing to the records that you like is a good strategy - alternatively I'd set up your Quick Bar as your own custom front page.

I am used to clicking Board Games - Wargames subdomain from the Quickbar. Not sure what you mean by "set up your Quick Bar" - how does one modify the Quick Bar?

Thanks.

Quick Bar and the subdomain selector are not the same thing. Quick bar is a way to have your favourite pages on BGG available on your front page.

Simply select Edit to add/modify them (You can have 100 links listed this way).

Again this isn't a perfect solution but via quickbar links and subscribing to the game records your interested in and blocking those you aren't you should have a more tailored experience of the site. Ideally more customisation on BGG in the future would be a very welcomed development.

Interesting. Thanks. My screen doesn't look like that - the word Quickbar is in the dark blue portion, above Adv. Search, so I associated it with the other dark blue stuff, like the Board Games/RPGs/Video Games selector.

Hmmm how odd... Might be down to your browser. I'm pretty sure this is how the site displays on both Safari and Firefox... can't quite imagine why it wouldn't be universal? Hmmmm...

Yug Yes - what a total pain. I've been skiving off and just resting on the hard work of the team via navigating by subscriptions

I use Firefox, it looks the way Liam described on my work computer, but not on my home computer. Odd. Both use the latest Firefox on XP.
