Hi All,

I was just wondering where you get your information about upcoming new game releases? I tend to look at Consimworld and company websites that I have an interest in. Does anyone look at magazines anymore? or is it pure digital?

Thanks

I get emails (and even print fliers) from companies I've bought from or signed up for.

The company support forums on CSW mostly. I also get emails from a lot of different companies that I do business with (GMT, MMP........)

Email newsletters and BBG, with this forum being the place I find the most new stuff I that I probably would have missed.

Agree with the majority so far. I either get word here on BGG or directly from the company, usually by e-mail.

I rarely use CSW and only occasionally buy gaming magazines.

I trawl their websites. BGG is pretty good for reviews and images once I know a game exists.

BGG and a semi-regular look at the MMP/GMT/VPG company websites.

CSW is a last resort lookup and never for news.

BGG is pretty much it for me. (People mentioning games, and stuff like Your Most Anticipated Wargames of 2013.)

If I'm looking at a company website, it's because I got there from here, but I don't usually do that; if there's not enough information about a game on BGG, then I probably don't need to know more about it.

Some. I pay more attention probably to the ones on CSW's news page;
are they even ads? I dunno - they're mixed in with reviews and history
tidbits, which is a better format (which avoids adblock).

The company sub-folders on CSW are a better place to get news on wargames than here - the publishers themselves simply post there more often.

The game sub-folders over there are a better source of up-to-the-minute info as well, as the frequent Q&A between designers and players/playtesters frequently leads to discussion or status on other planned titles a designer may be working on.

BGG.

I use to get e-mails from GMT but 2 years ago they stopped coming and nothing seems to be able to bring them back. Not sure if it's Comcast thinking they're spam or what. Can't wait to get Google Fiber in a few months so I can be rid of Comcast.

I have the adds and see them, but I can tell you that I've made no purchases based on adds here on bgg. Mostly I know about the games I want before they show as adds here, but there are the odd kickstarter that have been brought to my attention because of adds here, but no purchases made.
