This is an event rather than a contest. The objective is to inspire members to create or make Print-n-Play handouts for Trick-or-Treaters on Halloween.
The games should be relatively easy to create and Should employ candy as playing pieces if possible.

Create and share a new game. Or set about crafting any one of those from last year. The winners are the Trick-or-Treaters this Halloween.

Here is what we accomplished in the last 2 years.

Halloween Handouts: 2nd Annual Candy Game Event

And the thread that inspired this event.

You know what we need...

Last year was a somewhat low turnout due to weather here. But I now have a pre-made supply of boards and now just need to make the pieces again.

Here is the current list of games from past events if you just want to make some rather than design a game.

Halloween Candy Game or Board Game Handouts

And a pic of my handouts from last year.

I was thinking of retheming Stone Age with actual edible pieces. When you have to feed your tribe you actually eat the pieces creating scarcity. Or Scare-city (see what I did there LOL)

Here is my simple idea. I'd appreciate it if someone checked out my rules to see if they were easy enough to understand. The file needs a little formatting which I will fix and re-upload tomorrow. I also need to go out and look for minibags of orange and black m&ms. I assume those exist, right?

Looks good. Though instead of mentioning specific colour M&Ms, instead just suggest choosing a colour for each side?

I ended up looking all over yesterday for the fun sized packs with only two colors. As it turns out, they only exist as full bags. So I'll have to have them choose a color or slightly modify something else about the game since a fun size pack will only have a few of each color.

Would other types of candy work? I've seen candy corn sold in packs of standard and chocolate versions for example.

OOh just saw this. I made a candy game a couple years ago. To play, you need a pack of chocolate M&Ms, a pack of Peanut M&Ms and a checkers board.

CANDY CHAOS!

Here is a link to the rules at Google Docs:

Ok. Created 16 games and despite it raining all day. Handed out all of them!

Alot better turnout this year despite the weather.

I would agree with this and think these are great ideas. Sadly, no trick-or-treators come to our remote location back off the road. So, I can't use these readily. Sadly, because these sound cool.

Well one idea might be to make a batch and give them to someone you know who is more likely to get trick-or-treaters.
