Seeing as everyone else is repainting, thought I'd post mine :-)

Excellent! I was hoping someone would do a scheme nodding to the original from Balance of Terror.

No slight intended to anybody else who posted pictures, but those are the best Romulan paint jobs I've seen so far. Great job!

These are amazing - I spent a bit of time painting up my Romulan ships and these put mine to shame. Very nicely done.

I like it! I saw this when I was trying to get different eyeballs myself and thought it was interesting what they might do if they captured a ship:

Most of it is ink and drybrushing tbh, I'm a very average 40k painter at heart.

I believe the Klingon BOP was actually designed to be a Romulan ship for Star Trek III, which is why it has the wing motif like the Balance of Terror ship. At some point they changed it so it would be a Klingon ship, but kept the name and design.

Ive never painted stuff before. How did you get that base green colour?

Ironically the base colour is the colour they came in.

First I inked the whole thing heavily. Let it dry. Then drybrushed heavily using a light green. Then again with the same green but with some white in. Then paint the detail and black ink the none green bits. Quite striaghtforward.

Sadly, that is true.. The original bad guys in STIII were going to be Romulan, then midway thru they changed them to Klingons (more recognizable) and thus the whole skewed Klingon BoP was born.

Very nice, I really like the expanded contrast based on the colors chosen.

Did you strip them first or just paint over the top. Im looking to strip mine first have tried Fairy Power Spray (found in the UK) which works on My GW stuff.

When I paint my ships, I can't match this kind of steady hand. I have to rely on washes and drybrushing, techniques that don't require that level of precision. I like this paintjob very much. But it's the sort of scheme that only looks good when you DO have the level of necessary precision.
