Hello, I've been making this LOL board game since this summer.

I'm sorry that I'm Korean so my English is terrible.

Looks fantastic!

Just had a two small questions;
How do you do wards and fog of war?
How do you do experience and levels?

Love the map! Great hex layout that looks like it fits just right onto the board.

The champion play area looks a little cluttered with all of those tokens and sheets for each player however.

I can really appreciate the time and effort it took to do this, having tried several times myself.

1. Fog of war & Wards
Maybe I can say yes



So, how to play the game, there is a 3 step in one round

plan -> play -> prepare = this is 1 round

at plan section, every player put the order token on the slot

But, nobody can't see what enemy's next action is.

So, I can say there is a fog of war.

However, everyone know where the champions every end of the round



Also, there is a ward system,too.

That tiny solid triangle figure is a ward (now it colored in green)

If the enemy comes into the range of ward, the nearest player can order move token immediately.



And the Level

Every time your order is hunt, you get 2 things.

First, you can see the white tokens. That's minion table.

You can get that at the play section and change with golds at prepare section.

Also, at the same time, you get EXP(at the bottom , yellow token) and change with levels at prepare section.

Really sorry for my terrible English. I hope you can understand this.

Wow! The attention to detail on this is fantastic.

You've really done a great job on this, how long did
it take you if you don't mind me asking?

With the order tokens are they anonymous because everyone puts them face down and reveals them at the same time?

Great job on this though, do ad and ap affect damage?

Is the combat dice based or card based?

Yes you were right. At the plan section, all of the order tokens are face down. So we have to think about what's next enemies action.

Maybe he will gonna just kill the minion or somebody gank to you.


And on the matter of combat, its not dice based nor card based.

OMG ...It's hard to explain on English, but ummm... when your turn is Attack, you can use your skils, and basic attack, if its enough condition.

But there is a limit on Attack order. To attack more and more, you have to buy attack speed item.

Here is an example. Many champion has 1.0 attack speed(now as) on lv 1

basic attack costs 0.4 and each skill is different start form 0.2 to 1.0

So, when you play Sona in this board game, and you got 0.4 bonus as from item,(now 1.4 as)

basic attack(0.4) + basic attack(0.4) + Crescendo (0.6) is able on 1turn


Is that make you understand? Sorry for my bad English

I don't know much about LoL because I'm Dota 2 player, but ward mechanic sounds odd. Maybe opponent hero should have his order tokens face up near wards. In Dota 2 wards are mostly used to deny neutral spawns, to control runes and to spot enemy heroes. But wards are invisible in the game unless hero spot them with his own ward or special gem. So since wards are visible in this boardgame, you can turn then into some sort of area control. Hero may spawn ward token during his movement. This token indicates is it a ward or a decoy. When enemy hero is near ward token, player may reveal that this is ward and force opponent to reveal his order tokens. To destroy a ward, enemy hero must be next to it.
This mechanic recreates at least tactical advantage of having wards. Even if opponent knows positions of possible ward, he has to act carefully, because if there is a wards it will reveal his maneuvers. So, it possible that heroes will usually avoid ward tokens and this is a good way to protect specific rout or area.

Maybe you are right. Wards in video game and this board game maybe different. It's just block gank route, not to observe the area.

This. First time among many "Let's make MOBA board game!" threads I see transparent representation of DPS without true random distribution bullshit. Especially it stands out from modern approach to combat resolution. Great idea! I hope you built skill usage around it.

I sort of understand. So there's a total of 4.0 in each game round or 1.0 for the total phase?

In that example, did you take three attack actions or one is basically what I'm asking...

I dont have big size printer.
So I divided the map into 9 pieces (A4 size)
Then put them on hardboard paper
Lastly put the invisible film(?) on it.

1.0 for one attack order.


There is a total 12 token for each player.

But 1 round is 4 turn. So, you need only 4 of them.

Also, there are only 3 same token for each one.

So, it is impossible to attack 4time in 1 round.



Oh, I'll explain more about order token.

Heal
: it's really heal. In this game your health doesnt regen every round. So you need this when you are out of healty

Move
: it's easy. Role the dice + your boots ability + 3

The reason why I added 3, because in attack order, we can move 3 tiles at maximum. and it costs 0.1 for one move.

Hunt
: kill the minion. In play section, you get minion token from minion table, and get exp.

At prepare section, you can exchange with gold and level

Jungle-ing is based on hunt order token.

Red, Blue, Ghost, Golem(?), Wolves have one token on both blue side, pupple side, and 4 dragon token, 8 baron token.

Every time you order hunt, you can get that token, like minion. But you get damage from monster.(Damage is the number on token.)

Can the damage taken from neutral monster be reduced in any way? Otherwise, it seems kinda hard to deal with these guys if you take straight damage every time, but take no damage from a minion...

Love the item cards and I can see the 1/100 scaling on gold there!

Looks like fun!

Neutral monster's attack is a physical damage. So when you buy deffense item, damage will decrease.

It means after you buy this, you can throw dice at attack orders, and if you got 6, you can ignore the enemy's defense(100% penetration)
