We had a situation yesterday that looked like this:

A = attacker with knock-back
T = Target
o = Other characters

|_|_|_|_|_|
|_|_|o|_|_|
|_|o|T|_|_|
|_|_|_|_|A|

In this scenario, if T gets hit by a knock-back 3 spaces effect can either of the following happen:

1. Can T move diagonally from the knock-back effect to the empty space between the two O-s?
2. Can T move down one space and then to the left two spaces, because the ultimate result is the character being moved away from A, or does every space in the movement have to push away from A.

Additionally, when a character is moved through knock-back, is it the figure's owner or the attacker to chooses movement?

Look at the attack power carefully. Knock back powers can generally only be used in straight lines for this very reason; it would be ambiguous otherwise. Which character was attacking?

Kassius Kaos. Ah, you are right, the ability had a straight line only. I must have missed that on the card.

there aren't any spells with movement effects that are not in straight line, except teleport.
