The degree to which you are not only willing, but actively working, to ignore context is absolutely mind-boggling.

That was a great speech. So you admit he can read now? That's an improvement.

Drew, you are slipping, by even acknowledging that Obama can in fact speak, you are making him out to look better than you would have us actually believe.

Can you imagine a future where the House refuses to pass a budget unless a particular law they don't like is repealed? That could very well become the norm if Obama negotiates with the House over this.

you do realize that the house controls the purse strings.
the president has power of veto and the senate merely needs to pass the houses bill and allow a vote on it.
Harry Reid has so far refused to do that and if the Senate refuses to do their job and hold the country hostage, then the house is well withing their power to shut down the government.

What? The Senate has formally voted on and rejected both of the House bills (the complete defunding of the ACA and the delay). Both were defeated 54-46. They've also voted on an amended bill (on 9/30) to remove the defunding language that the House has not acted on.

You might get the most basic of facts accurate. Otherwise you look like a complete loon.

This is only true if you're discussing the piecemeal appropriation bills for the VA, NIH, and DC. Which won't see Senate action because they aren't the CR. Nor should they.

There's something about pots and kettles and colors here. Gimme a minute - I'm too busy laughing at you to get it right.

We've already addressed this falsehood. But what about the House not bringing the clean CR to a vote? It would pass now with Republican support. Why is your blame only for the Senate?

If you're that humorless, then think about what he's saying in context: He sees the job of Congress as to blindly approve of whatever he wants. To never oppose him. To always agree.

Do you like that?

do you not pay attention to current events ?

The House has already sent three bills to the Senate that would fully fund the government. The first continuing resolution would have permanently defunded the president’s broken health care law. The second would have delayed it for a year, while the third would have delayed just the individual mandate and included a version of the Vitter Amendment which subjects Congress to the same ObamaCare costs and restrictions as the rest of America.

All three were rejected by an obstinate Democrat-controlled Senate, unwilling to move forward unless Harry Reid gets everything he wants.

Ummm, you said "won't bring them to a vote." Not "won't approve them." They were voted on and they lost.

Next?

It's clear you don't. BTW, the Republicans in the House blocked an attempt to vote on the clean CR bill today.

So you were wrong about the Senate not voting, but it is correct that the House wouldn't vote.

Are you pissed at the Republicans in the House now?

The Republicans are blocking a clean bill, and the Democrats are blocking a dirty one. Given that most Americas support a clean bill I know who will lose.
