I like Death Angel, but if I only play solo or with 2 players, there doesn't seem to be a way to integrate the locations unused in the setup.

Would it break anything if I play with random locations, making sure one of the locations numbered 4 is last?

Even crazier, do you think it's possible to play with random terrain?

Has anyone here come up with a system to inject more variance and unpredictability into the game's setup?

Yeah, Jason did, here:

Location Variety: Giving 1A-1C some more love

I developed his idea a slight bit further and made this file:

Location Substitutions

It does exactly what you're thinking of

So, we've played several games with random locations, without any extra modifications, just making sure that the location numbered 4 is last and the number of locations corresponds to the void lock being used. ( 4 locations for a 2-player game and 3 locations for a solo game), and it works great.

Good fun!

Also recently picked up all the expansion packs, and I'm keeping everything mixed in, except the Tyranids of course.

Having more locations and more marines is nice.
