The club is on again this Saturday, 5th October and again on the 19th, 12.00-17.00

Same venue, the Masonic Hall in Hope Street, Motherwell, there's loads of free parking and it's only yards away from the train station.

It's £2.50 for adults and £0.50 for kids. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.

I've updated the diary on our Guild page to include all our events including the Regular Motherwell games days, the Monday Night pub club, Thursday Night Android: Netrunner and some other events as well: http://boardgamegeek.com/geekguild/view/1653

All are welcome, what do you want to play?

I'll be bringing my usual bunch of games, but I want to get Betrayal at House on the Hill to the table if at all possible...

Another cracking session today, I think at one point we had 26 people there including a load of delighted first timers. Among the games played were:

Betrayal at House on the Hill
Hey that's my fish
Ascension
TTR Europe
Robinson Crusoe
Crokinole
Poo
Dixit
Power Grid
Love Letter
Loopin Louie
Munchkin Cthulhu
Princes of Florence
7 Wonders
Shadow Hunters
Shazamm

And it looks as though a Dragon Age rpg campaign is about to start as loads of characters were prepared ready for a fortnight.

I now can't wait until the 19th.

Hi Hypno Shade,

We play loads of deck builders like Dominion, Kazumane Godess and others.

Regarding collectable card games we have players in the club who play Magic and Yugioh but no dedicated group for them -if you asked folks there you'd definitely get people playing those and would be able to arrange games no problem. We do have a dedicated Netrunner following, to the point that we even set up their own club for the game, which takes place in Glasgow on Thursdays. I'm a massive fanboy of the game too so if you have any questions about Netrunner please fire away.

Any questions or queries then please feel free to get in touch.

Thanks,

- Shaheen

So, I finally had a clear Monday night and decided to pop into Glasgow to have a look at the pub club. I was surprised and impressed.

There must have been almost 30 people at The Auctioneers tonight, which I gather is par for the course. Of that, only 5 including me attend the Motherwell session, not sure what that says about overlaps or untapped markets.

There was lots of room and no bother or conflict with the pub or other patrons especially as the gamers bought plenty of food and drink.

I was really impressed with the variety of the games on offer. I was meeting up with N/A and Adam to play The Princes of Florence and Tinners' Trail.

But, among the other games played that I could see were Android: Netrunner, A Game of Thrones: The Board Game (Second Edition), Pax Porfiriana, Risk Legacy and Dominoes!!! As well as loads of others.

I'm now starting to regret having so few Monday nights free as I'd love to go back.

Despite the competing attractions of a Netrunner tournament in Edinburgh we still managed an attendance in the 20's. Among the games played the Dragon Age rpg campaign seemed to be in full swing, board games played included
Hammer of the Scots
For Sale
King of Tokyo
Elder Sign
Love Letter
Power Grid
Pandemic
Tsuro
and, in a heavily quarantined area
Cards Against Humanity

Absolutely, it's a belter of a game, even though I did manage to get Wallace killed and hand Scotland over to Edward II. Admittedly after killing his dad at the Battle of Glasgow in 1301 (Your Scotland May Vary)

1301, thank you - I couldn't remember which year/turn it was!

Wintering went easier than I remembered from my playthroughs (solo). It's a steep slippery slope once you lose too many nobles...
