Has anyone dunked the larger minis in hot water? I'm thinking of doing it with a couple of mine but I'm not sure if the wash will come off.

Everything is relative to perception, and your perception is limited.

What are you trying to do? Have you painted them, or is this pre-paint?

I think he's trying to straighten thin parts that came bent.

Trying to straighten a couple of them out. The mummy is leaning back and the stag beetle has bent horns. A dip in hot water works for most minis but because of the wash on these, I'm wary. I guess I could just apply another wash if the water affects it.

I dunked my stag beetle's left front arm/leg/thing. Straightened out just fine and the paint looks as good as ever. No worries.

Is this a thing that works on the small figures as well? It would be great if I could straighten out a couple of them that look like they're about to keel over drunk.

I dunked quite a few of the army figures and they're fine.

I warmed water on the stove (not too hot, just hotter than the tap) and had a bowl of fridge-cold water to set them.

Worked really well.
Just takes a few seconds and they spring back to natural shape.

Yeah, I'm used to doing this with nearly every miniatures game I own.

Just be sure to pour the hot water into another container before throwing in the minis. You wouldn't want to melt them on the bottom of the pot.

Most small minis will go to their normal shape without adjustment. Larger or thicker minis sometimes require you to hold their shape in place while you dunk them in cold water to preserve the new shape.

I didn't heat them in the pan, just dunked in the hot then into the cold to set them.
I have a hemostat, but you can use whatever; tweezers, needle-nose pliers, etc.
