Saw a picture of these guys in the coverage of the DC car chase:

Does anyone know what unit they're from? WF? Whitehouse Force?

I'll leave it to someone in the know to answer, but there is no reason to assume that just because someone wears paramilitary gear that they are in the military - special weapons/tactics forces in metropolitan police forces for example also wear military style uniforms, as do private security forces/contractors.

And off the cuff, I would guess the military probably has better transport than riding in the back of a pickup truck...

These are probably police.
But it's difficult to tell these days:
http://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/story.php?title=cop-sold...

There is a "White House Police Force", called the Uniformed Division of the Secret Service, but their badges don't look like that.

The closest Army unit to the White House is probably the ceremonial company at Fort McNair, the closest Marine unit the Marine Barracks at 8th and I Streets.
But I dont' think they would have badges like that either.
I also note number tabs below the shoulder badges, that appear to be different.
So maybe these are badge numbers, if they are police?

Please don't nitpick my use of the word military in the original post. The point is to identify the unit and I think my desire is clear enough.

Do the helmet patches say FBI?

I saw the aftermath of a minor vehicle accident on a secondary highway in Tennessee and a couple of the policemen directing traffic and investigating looked like these guys. No helmets or automatic rifles but the dress was very similar.

"WF" stands for Warhol Force.

In 1968 Andy Warhol predicted that in the future everybody would be famous for 15 minutes. The elite Warhol Force takes down insane people who commit bizarre crimes to fulfill Warhol's prophecy.

Probably just a couple of 'open carry' guys out for a drive in the back of Art's pick-up.

When it is your turn to send a VASSAL move, the wait is excruciating. When it's my turn, well, I've been busy.

It's hard to see from that angle but there is a "T" in between the "W" and "F".

Family members interviewed said they think she was suffering post-partum depression because her bahavior reportedly changed several months after the birth of her child.

But there is no verification yet that she was ever diagnosed with the condition.

Thanks Pokey (and David)!
The second photo clears up the mystery.
(Very clever guess though, Pete!)

Seriously, you should pitch this to a TV producer.

That will create a new kind of headstone: "Famous for fifteen minutes!" or, "A loving husband who became famous for 5 minutes. Rest in peace Jack.". Or, "Famous for two full days! We loved you Mom."
