I was looking at the Litko tokens for X-Wing the other night, and I saw they have a bunch of 3D ones. My immediate response was "those are freaking awesome!" but then I realized that they're double the price of the regular tokens. Has anyone used the 3D ones? Are they much better/more convenient/cooler looking than their flat ones? I'd love to invest in some, but I'd love to hear feedback from anyone else who's used them.

So what do you think? Cool enough to be worth it? Or stick to the 2D tokens?

They look worse to me. Bigger, bulkier, harder to store. The target locks have tiny numbers. Meh.

Yeah, I do kind of wish the target locks were just solid with the number in the middle. That would be easier to see, which is kind of the whole point.

They look awesome, but Hexis is right: storage would be a nightmare.

That said, I will vouch for Litko's tokens in general and for their customer service. I think they're great.

They also have flat (non-3D) target lock tokens that are a bit smaller than the ones that came with the game and nice acrylic look & feel - I got those and am very happy with them. I like the *idea* of 3D ones that stand on their own, but in practice on an already crowded board I'm just not sure they would work best in this game.

I can imagine the 3d target lock tokens working fairly well on the pilot cards.

A lot harder for the other player to keep track of how the TLs match up if the blue one's all the way back by you, though.

Though not that much harder than tracking it when it's back by that asteroid you ran into two turns ago.

My 3D tokens were just shipped, so hopefully in 2 weeks I can let you know how they work out They look pretty neat and I'm genuinely excited for them!
