So I've taken all we know about this game, taken some dropzone commander terrain, taken the rules previews, videos, and Tactical Briefings for all of the units and made a rules set for free download based on it all. I update as I get more information and details.

Here is where you can find the rules.

Here is the table that I set up.

Here are the results of a few games.

Awesome work on the table! It's nice to see someone so excited. It would be a lot of fun to battle in that scene.

You are not the first person to ask so here is a brief review. I'll try to add more detail later but I just got back from a long drive and wanted to put in something before too much time went by.

The table is great. I've never made one and had a lot of fun making this one. Not sure what the next step will be though. Maybe some desert terrain?

Ok everyone, yes I know the rules are rumored to be at the gencon and "nearly complete", Jazz Hands. I hope that that is the case but just in case I've spent a bit of time adding a few things to my rules and making them look spiffy. I've added characters and character trait costs so that you can add your own characters to the game. If you can think of any other traits to add post them here or at RGC.

I've also added HTH Base Damage to the stat cards and what HTH attacks the unit is allowed to make, such as a Regult not being able to punch or a Spartan not being able to jump kick someone.

I also updated a few of the unit traits in preparation of doing all the Southern Cross and Invid Invasion and also Sentinels stuff. I also added the Quel-Gulnau to the list and created a new trait for it and the Glaug, Spawning and Spawn Assist. This allows unit that are near a Glaug that have the Life is Cheap trait to have a chance to be "resurrected" when destroyed.

So what is left? I still need Jotun and YF-4 Stats. I also need to create stats for the upgraded power armor for both FPA and MPA.

For the other wars I need to refine the Invid stats. Southern Cross Veritech Mecha and Masters Bioroids are done I also need to figure out Force Org Charts for each faction. One I have force orgs I can playtest some and come up with the point costs of the other units.

So what I need help with is coming up with what I'm missing or suggestions for rules additions or changes. Playtesting. Many may want to wait till the "official rules" come out. No problem.

So for those who do not know me I have built a table and made some cardstock stand-ins and took the tidbits that we were given and created a full fledged rules set for Tactics. Last October I thought, why not? and emailed PB and offered to demo the game if they would send me a copy of the actual rules. When they started looking into it they were surprised. My rules for terrain were more complex then theirs as well as cover but the combat portion was dang close. So much so that they thought they had a leak until they realized that I just took what they had shared, combined with the RPG and filled in a lot of the blanks.

Come December I get an email that they are interested and that I would get a call. On December 24th I get a call from Kevin Siembieda. After about an hour talking about the game and progress I was told that I would get a copy of the rules and an NDA specially tailored to allowing me to share my thoughts and impressions of the game. So although I cannot share the rules direclty I can share what I know from playing and provide clarifications on rules. If your interested I'm working on a write up here which gets updated every few days.

Thanks for all the info!

I'm curious...looks like the mecha have around 8 weapons, limited ammo, lots of hits to track, etc - that looks a lot more complicated than what they showed in the KS version. How would you rate the complexity and record keeping of Robotech compared to games like Battletech or WH40K?

Cheers for the info mate, gotta echo the statement of there being a lot more than expected on those cards - those grids you've done with letters or numbers by the damage tracks, is that ammo?

Any clue on base size btw?

Had a couple of minor test runs today using the rules you've provided. First was a basic UEDF squad of one VF-J1 and three VF-1A's vs a Glaug, 6 Regults and a Quel-Regult. Mucked a few rules up but it was just a test to get the basics of movement, command points etc, we misread a few things and the UEDF firces were slaughtered to a man.

Second game the UEDF player (me) added a second squad of just two VF-1A's while the Zentraedi player added a pair of Gluuhaug-Regult. We laid out -n array of empty pepsi cans about 6" apart with a forest on one flank and a large burnt out building up back. I'd read up on rules a bit more to check some stuff while my opponent played Warmachine, getting a better grasp on missiles (though I misread and thought you couldn't dodge them, only AMS), Accurate/Ficused Fire, and Spawn.

The Glaug came barreling up the board for my smaller squad while his Regults swarmed my VF-J1 and squadmates, and the Gluuhaug-Regult supported with LRMs. I hadn't found the spreadsheet with the missile range/damage, but found a reference to LRMs doing 9 damage, and assumed they were long enough range fir the fight we wee in. I got lucky and only lost one Veritech from my smaller squad, the LRMs of the Regults firing wild, and managed to get a good crossfire on the Glaug and took it down with a lot of focused GU-11 Rapid Fire and a few lucky LRM shots despite my opponent rolling with the imoact. Once he had lost his Glaug I began picking off the Regults dead easy with my handfuls of Command points and his complete lack, we're thinking it's best to keep the Glaug up back to begin next time.

Really keen to get the full rules, I'm not 100% sold on it being a single D6 system, but I think it makes it a bit faster and allows the 'handful of dice' for squads shooting at once, so I'm content with it for now.

I did find the ammo on missiles a bit confusing (but as said, I only found the spreadsheet on the google docs link tonight afterwards). It made staying in Guardian more thematic and fun (you lose missile ammo once you shift to Battleoid right? I think I read that somewhere), and it became more of a risk when I wanted to switch for that extra bit of Gunnery.

Quite keen for the full game, come on Palladium, give me a PDF!
