I did watch this DVD lately,

and while

Erato was a horrible weatherballon of creation, it was one of the most wellwritten episodes


also filled with humor and many jokes we clearly sees the influence of Douglas Adams as script-writer, indeed some of them was reused in Hitchhiker or rewritten but still the same.

It's no City of Death, but ...Pit has some good moments, and at least it's not Nightmare of Eden. Geoffrey Balydon's Organon the astrologer is a memorable supporting character, and has some entertaining dialogue with the Doctor. This doesn't change the fact that the monster is a green-painted weather balloon with a giant phallus, of course...
