They seem to breed in my flat .....3 a day at least and the carpet I think is the breeding place where they spawn until someone rubs them off onto the floor with their foot ...and ZOOM like a rat out of an aquaduct they're off.

They appear to be hair with something else mixed in....or are they?

I don't know. I think you should set up a motion activated camera to catch them in action. Does your government offer grants for this kind of thing? Maybe you can get funding for your study.

In that other thread about where dust comes from I mentioned that I make it because I'm responsible for a grinding facility at work.

Well, it just so happens that it is located in a remote area that is filled with rabbits. Tons of them. Really. They are everywhere. They're cute little bunnies.

Let's review the evidence here:

1. Grinding facility
2. Lots of rabbits

Hmmmm...

If this were 221B Baker Street, I'd be headed home to solve the case after those two clues.

(Note to those who may be worried: No, we don't really grind rabbits. I've only ever seen one in the building and that was during renovations.)
