Hi everyone, need some help.
I was at Essen yesterday and I saw a couple playing a game but I never got a chance to see the name of it. Since I was only attending the one day I won't be able to seek it out again
Hopefully if I give a description someone will know what it is
It was themed somewhere between medieval and renaissance. Only consisted of cards and a board to keep track of resources. And they seemed to be lining the cards in sets as they played.
I only had a glance for a few minutes, so that's all I can say I'm afraid, but those few minutes got me interested.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have. In the mean time I'll keep hunting the web!

Thanks Toms, but I'm afraid that isn't the one. I actually picked up Legacy, can't wait to get it to the table with friends.
The resource track with this mystery game shows wood, gold, stone...your typical euro stuff

Only things I can think of even remotely similar would be Guildhall ( no board or resources), Spyrium ( no board and different resources), or Rattus Cartus (not sure about resources)

You're getting close I think Roland. It wasn't spyrium or guildhall, but it did look similar to Rattus Cartus. Maybe a bit less colourful and I'm certain the board had resources, as in materials, on it.
Why do I have to be flying home today, I want to go back to Spiel!

And the winner is Mary! Thank you

Kashgar looks just like it. Tell me, have you had the chance to play it?
A big thanks for everyone else's suggestions and help.

No, unfortunately, I haven't played it. I didn't even know about it until two days ago!
But it looks great. I don't think there's an English edition yet.

No there doesn't seem to be one. Apparently they're speaking to English publishers of hopefully someone will pick it up
