Hi,
my girlfriend and me normally enjoy depper games like Agricola, CoB or Goa.
I now consider to get a shorter game with not a lot of set up which we can play as a w player without putting too much energy in it.
Just to enjoy sitting down together.
What do you recommend?

If you like Agricola then you should look into Agricola: All Creatures Big and Small much more compact two player version of the regular Agricola. Very easy and quick set up and after both players are familiar set up. playing and packing up should take well under an hour.

I will also offer Claustrophobia only if you like dungeon crawlers. This is pure hack and slash goodness, look at some of the reviews to see if this is something you would like. Easy to learn ruleset, quick set up but loads of replayability and all in a 45 minute format.

Red November is an absolute blast to play! It also plays well with two players and plays extremely well with 3 or more. Very funny game, you are Russian gnomes on a doomed submarine and have to wait 1 hour for help to arrive and the only way to get the courage to have your gnome do what he needs to do is to get him drunk so he gets the "bravery". My 7 years old son finds this game hilarious and we play this a lot. It will play in about an hour and there is minimal set up (cards, pieces, etc).

Almost all wargames are 2 player but can be rather set up intensive. I personally love Memoir '44 but set up time may be something you want to avoid. I rarely (if ever) have had a game of M44 last more than an hour. Also if you girlfriend is like my wife she would rather go to the dentist than play a wargame.

When my girlfriend and I sit down for a casual 2 player game just to sit down, unwind, and something to do. Instead of our usual longer games (Agricola, Tzol'kin, Ora et Labora, Le Havre) Here is our game list:

Race for the galaxy
Can't Stop
Love Letter
Tsuro
Red November Inn
Battle Line
Android: Netrunner

Tsuro or Indigo would work well for this, I think.

I agree with 7 Wonders, and as much as I adore Seasons, those games can go long depending on the players.

Love Letter, King of Tokyo, Coloretto, Colossal Arena are all fast and fun little games.

Warning about 7 Wonders with only 2 players. People seem to have a love/hate relationship with the dummy player you have to use in a 2 player game.

Hive - especially the pocket edition
Hey, That's My Fish! - more fun than I expected out of this one
AttrAction - fun little dexterity game
BattleCON: War of Indines and BattleCON: Devastation of Indines are amazing
Button Men - one advantage is, as long as you have the polyhedral dice, you can print out whatever characters you want
Light Speed - my wife really seems to like this one

Edit to add:
Haggis - great trick-taking card game for 2 - 3

Is this a homebrew cross between Red November and Red Dragon Inn? Drunken russian gnomes chilling at the bar after the sub sank, getting "brave" and gambling?

Sounds wonderful.

Escape: The Curse of the Temple - easy to learn, awesome to play, and is timed with a 10 minute soundtrack so the game is never longer than 10 minutes.

I just wanted to say that King of Tokyo isn't for 2 players (you and your girlfriend). It's a brilliant game for 4 players or more.

Just stepping in to say that my brother and I play two player partner style King of Tokyo all the time and it works great. We each control two
Monsters, one north-south and the other east-west, and play the game normally from there. Whoever owns the winning monster at the end wins the game. Very fun, and with two monsters you get some interesting tactical situations such as deciding when you want to swap your monsters in and out of Tokyo or slight changes in how certain cards benefit you (eg Healing Ray becomes a bit more useful while a card that damages your allied monster is a bit less useful.)

For 15 minutes or less,

Ra: The Dice Game is great fun and works very well with 2 players (also great with 3 or 4)

For 25 to 30 minutes for 2 players,

Hansa is a great game. It involves pick up and deliver, area control, and set collection. It has a really cool boat you move all over the map. Very easy and quick to set up, too.
