I cannot understand this rule. Could someone help me, if possible with an example, to understand it?.
It is confused to me.
Thank you.

When you give a pilot Deadeye, anytime you want to use something that says "Attack [Target Lock]," which would mean you'd have to have a Target Lock on the thing you wanted to attack, you can change it to "Attack [Focus]" - so instead of needing a Target Lock to fire your missiles, you just need a Focus token.

Also, if the attack requires you to spend a Target Lock (which all the missiles and torpedoes do, except for Homing Missiles) you can instead spend a Focus token.

The place I've found this skill to be the most useful is on Green Squadron Pilots - they have a low pilot skill, so they move early, and often the thing I want to shoot my missiles at isn't close enough to TL yet. So I focus instead, and then can shoot missiles wherever I want to.

The problem with GSPs taking Deadeye is that without Push the Limit (PtL) their long-term survivability is dubious. A-Wings can survive long into the end game if they Focus and Evade. The best build I've ever seen it on comes from John DiMaggio, who has as part of his Twin Firespray build

Kath + Deadeye + Recon Specialist + Concussion Missile + Slave-1 + Advanced Proton Torpedo.

The combination of Recon Specialist and Deadeye is particularly brilliant here. You get two Focus tokens, use one to essentially get the Target Lock and then use the second one on the secondary weapon shot. It can be devastating.

Ooh, that's NASTY looking. I like it!

I usually fly my GSP's with two X-Wings, so they tend to survive because - once they've shot their missiles, which happens early on - the X-Wings seem the bigger threat.

In the meantime, the A-Wings can nibble things like Bombers and Firesprays to death.
