It looks like a fun game, but overpriced given the amount of game content you get.

Remember that this is the price for "speedy" pick up. If you can wait the game is supposed to retail for 20$ IIRC

I will pass for now, 40 dollar for international customers is a bit too much for me :(

Do you really think retail price will be much cheaper (at at least in Europe)?

Same here - I was expecting it to be nearer $25

I think (hope) we'll see it for around 20 euros.

They are charging $10 for the playmat, plus a premium over online retailers, even if you were going to BGGcon... No rush for me!

I likely would too if I were going to the con, but with shipping and the price here, it adds 50% to the cost.

You can fold it up and stick it in there, but due to its rubbery mouse pad origins, it will try to push the box open, requiring a rubber band around the box to keep it closed.

Agree...this will probably be $17 at FOLGS with free shipping options.

You could get one of those play mat tubes from coolstuffinc to hold it in:

It does seem quite a lot considering that this game can be played without the game and instead with a deck of cards. Really all you are getting is some art and some helpful tokens. Any ideas of british prices?

I think having thick cardboard characters is going to be very helpful. It can be hard to pick up a card from a flat surface, especially if you have to so quickly and quietly.

Personally, I have tried creating my own mock copy of a game (The Resistance) just as a temporary solution because the game was not easily available at the time. It was hard to get people to play it and take it seriously because it looked shoddy. I think having the actual game helps a lot in grabbing people's attention.
