I need help, when I was young I used to have these old battered books I picked up in a second hand store. They were adventure books (??) the ones where you use a pen and dice e.g. roll a 6 move to page 74 kind of thing. The problem is I have no idea how to look for these books now, what genre etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Kevin

There's a reasonably good chance you'll find them on this list:

Gamebooks

Wow thanks

Not sure if it helps or rings any bells with anyone but one of the books had a red cover and a Minotaur on the front.

I was obsessed by dinosaurs and transformers when I was a kid.
So I remember this book very dearly.

And the that's "The" Steve Jackson who developed that system.

And guess what? Those gamebooks are being developed for the iPad:

I think we're going to buy a few for my son when we drive to Virginia this Christmas.

There are two Steve Jacksons, the US one and the UK one. Steve Jackson developed the system and wrote some books, but Steve Jackson also wrote some of the books, which were just credited to Steve Jackson. So the question is, which Steve Jackson wrote that book?

Book 22: Robot Commando is actually in the database on the RPG Geek side. It says this is the work of the US Steve Jackson.

That is all manner of confusing. Why hasn't one of them started adding his middle initial or something?
