I'm in the process of modding my set to add a little more flavor--names for each Child card, names for the Ventures, etc. Since someone in the Expansion Ideas thread mentioned doing the same, I thought I'd post my names here in case anyone wants them; it might save you a bit of work. There are thirty-nine cards for each gender:

Boys:
Alain, Alphonse, Antoine, Benoit, Bertrand, Christian, Claude, Denis, Didier, Edouard, Emile, Etienne, Francois, Frederic, Gabriel, Gaston, Gerard, Guillaume, Henri, Hugo, Isaac, Jacques, Jean Luc, Leon, Lucas, Marcel, Matthieu, Maurice, Philippe, Remy, Rene, Sebastien, Serge, Theodore, Thierry, Tristan, Vincent, Yves, Zacharie.

Girls:
Adelaide, Adrienne, Amelie, Antoinette, Aurore, Brigitte, Camille, Charlotte, Clemence, Colette, Corinne, Danielle, Eleonore, Elise, Emmanuelle, Fabienne, Gabrielle, Genevieve, Helene, Henriette, Ines, Isabelle, Jacqueline, Juliette, Madeleine, Margot, Marie, Mathilde, Michele, Nicole, Noemi, Odette, Penelope, Sabine, Sylvie, Therese, Valentine, Valerie, Zoe.

Several of those have diacritical marks that I don't know how to reproduce on my keyboard You can find the accurate spellings, and tons of other names if you don't like some of mine, on this page: http://french.about.com/od/culture/a/frenchnames.htm

As for how to do it, I just wrote them on with a sharpie, but I do this with a lot of my games and I don't mind the look of it. If you want something more elegant-looking, I'd consider printing some nice stickers or slips of paper and then sleeving the cards to keep the shape and thickness uniform.

I haven't done the Ventures yet, but I'll post them here when I do in case anyone's interested.

Aaaaaaaand now I did the Ventures. These are still fairly generic--they don't have company names or anything, like the promo mansion cards, they're just quick descriptions designed to add some storytelling and flavor: instead of just buying a 'venture,' you get to flip over a card and say "Neat! Nicolas and Mathilde just bought a Winery!"

Ventures:
Shipping Company, Silver Mine, Agricultural Landowner, Vineyard and Winery, Textile Company, Metalworking Factory, Newspaper.

I had initially put a railroad in there, foolishly misremembering the timing of the steam locomotive. In the 1700s, where I imagine this game to be set, the major industries in France were agriculture, textiles, and metalwork, so I based my businesses on that; James Watts has already invented the steam engine, but most of them were stationary, used in factories and pumping water out of mines. If you imagine your game in the early 1800s, skirting the edge of the revolution a little more closely, go ahead and add a railroad (probably switching out the agriculture, which was losing traction by then).

Very nice!

Yes, share the ventures as well. Historically the nobles at the time mainly dabbled in forges and mines

Thanks to Fellfrosch for the idea of doing this.
I printed some names on transparent film and fit them in sleeves with cards.

Girls, girls, girls!

If anyone want, i uploaded a file with all names. I have no idea, how to make it multipage instead of just layers.

Denis, did you happen to do the same (or similar) thing with the Venture cards? I would love to add that in as well. Thanks so much, I love your work!!

Oh, Ventures. I did not name my Venture cards for two reasons. First, i got kind of tired cutting all child names and just forgot about Ventures) And second, I have bought not enough sleeves for all Legacy cards, sadly. Only for friends and children. And it's not that you can go to a nearest book store here to buy mini euro sleeves.
I'll sure need to do this someday, and also transfer promo mansions' text into regular ones.
