I have leaning towards trying 3 ideas that kinda tie in with this thread. Would like some feedback on these ideas.

1) Change evade from a single evade into adding 2 to your agility for the entire round (Would really help with multiple attacks). With a minus one to your attack that round. Simulating your ship twisting and throwing off your aim.

2) When a ship is cloaked and attacks you get a -1 off your attack. To help simulate the scanners having trouble through the cloak.

3) Create a repair action that can let you roll to repair a shield or hull.

What do you all think?

1. Not bad... although combined with Cloak, you will have ships routinely rolling 8 Evade Dice or more. The -1 Attack might be a decent offset.

2. That's not a bad idea at all... definitely logical in the context of shows/movies. Special abilities would stay the same, just would now wind up offsetting the cloak penalty, which is fine.

Actually... if we wanted to give cloaking ships a reason to invest in secondary weapons, how about making them (secondary weapons) exempt from the penalty? If a cloaked ship really wants that surprise attack (drop cloak and pounce), they have to pay a few extra points to make it work, and they can't do it every turn.

3. Often suggested. I suspect, though, that this is somewhat covered with all the crew options out there.

Thanks for the feedback:

Like that idea about secondary weapons not being penalized. It fits thematically and would encourage the use of secondary weapons.

I agree there are several crew members that do repair actions, just kinda wanna spread that out more, and could even make it faction specific. Say maybe federation, Romulan, Breen ships have built in repair action,since they seemed to have better techs/repair crews.

In regards to point 1) if the ship fired the previous turn he would have to chose between cloak and evade so he would not get 8 evade. Now he could if he didnt fire which would represent him stalking you more and more worried about not getting hit then shooting at you.

Point 2) like that idea and agree completely with you.
