So I need another opinion of my Ice choices. Probably asset choices as well. I got it to work once. But I'm staring at my Ice list and right now I want to try and build something against an Indexing Kit with probably at least 2 femmes. I've also gotten very little mileage out of the Tricks but need to build a habit of advancing when possible if I'm going to use them.
Also how would/should I fit in Clone Retirement? Throw in more Grims? Swap in Corporate War over Gilas?
Well won my two corp games at my meetup yesterday. 1 from points and 1 from a flatline via Ronin. Ice isn't making runs that costly at the moment though, and money ended up being too tight. I kind of want to switch to Pads or even Marked and see how those work. Contracts has the problem of running out and now got nothing left. Making more use of Tricks though, remembering to advance things at least prior to use.
Alright thinking one more time. Went for Gilas instead of Melanges instead. Both get taken out as easily, but if I get a Gilas through that's permanent. Profiteering means I don't have to stop after a score. But short something like Janus that scoffs at BP that'll just start to hurt if things take too long. But since I'm not running 3 I need to be more cautious when scoring that. Then make run costs higher soon after.
I cut out the Neural EMP for Ice, the third Celeb Gift, and 3rd ToL. I felt the sit for 3 for the flatline limited your hand to what it could do, while sitting on a Ronin with a Trick was about the same. Granted that's an extra amount of setup, but if traps are enough to keep the remotes unguarded Ronin's will get better play. Otherwise bank everything off Ice Wall.
So first problem are assets are dead weight on R&D lock. Mitigated by Snare and Fetal, but not completely. Trash costs are low all around, so the IAA trick gets lost in the process. No EMP means an avoidable flatline via Remote runs. Porous ice means hard to stop if someone wants to get in. Only the gamble of trap deters this.
So things I need to consider: Matrix Analyzer over Popup. Right now I see IAA benefits from anything that can save clicks. Pad Campaign made things easier in a previous build, but with Profiteering I think I have a better handle on money this time.
Corporate War? Functions similarly but requires a bankroll. Can hide as a trap until money is better. But ToL limits FA ability. Include Archive Memories? Though being able to just score one Nisei can shift the game where I don't really need to ToL again. Take time to set up again. Howard them back in the meantime. Also means being able to squeeze in another card, like another Junebug or even a Cyberdex.
Looking for more opinions. I keep thinking I can be choosing better Ice.
