The Germans have just received an 81mm Radio as a Reinforcement, and are therefore capable of firing Smoke. If they fire a Smoke barrage into or adjacent to the MG screen hex, is the Artillery Smoke placed on top of the MG screen Smoke counter or is no Artillery Smoke counter drawn?

By stacking limits (8.1.4), only one smoke counter can occupy a hex.

By special rule (#1), the MG Screen (Smoke 1) can only be removed if an Axis unit occupies an adjacent hex and can't be removed by any other means.

Thank you for your reply Richard. I was afraid that would be the 'by the book' answer, even if it not the most realistic (Smoking the village is a likely tactic). As it turned out in my game, the Brits got two Artillery Denied cards in quick succession and 'resolved' the problem.
