I just bought Trains and look forward to playing. As I often do with deck builders, I set up four starting decks so that we can hit the ground running right away. It was then that I discovered that my Station Expansion cards are ever-so-slightly larger than all the other cards in the starting decks - enough to be noticeable in feel and by sight.
I hate using card sleeves, so this is a somewhat troubling issue for me.
I'll post a picture if I get a chance to do so tonight.
Has anybody else encountered this?
Just saw another thread showing this to be a widespread problem. Any word from AEG?
I never noticed this, however i sleeved all my cards prior to the first play. Being a deckbuilder i thought this was a wise choice or else cetrain cards would get uneven wear and become marked anyway, eg waste. Just get the cheap sleeves from wallmart for 99c/100
However, having played a game of Trains since opening it, I can truly say they the different-sized cards didn't seem to be an issue in our game. I suppose as long as several decks are odd-sized, there's no marking of the cards. What's more, I don't think knowing what's coming is all that big of an advantage.
My base game has 2-3 different size cards. To make matter worse I would have to go to the next bigger size sleeve and the smaller cards almost fall out. Aeg sent replacements that were the same way. So for me trains was a waste. Trying to shuffle different size cards doesn't work.

Why doesn't it work?
The longer cards (in whichever dimension you use to hold the cards) will collect towards the top of the deck, even if you sleeve them - I've tried. Sleeving helps, and it just might help enough since these cards (at least in my set) are very close to each other in size.
