Some things about the shootout are not made clear in the rules.
After you determine who starts shooting first, how are the shots resolved?
a)first player takes a shot, then the next one and so on, untill everyone passes on the opportunity to shoot
or
b)first player fires all his shots that he wants, then the next player and so son

the rules only say you can stop shooting whenever you want to save bullets (but you still can get shot at)

The first player shoots his eligible number of bullets (according to his gun/s), then the next players. Round by round until all pass.

So the first player shoots, e.g. 3 bullets (1 free colt, and two tokens) then he passes, the second player shoots spending 2 bullet tokens from a rifle, the third player says he passes, and that's all?

We played it that:

First player shoots, second player shoots, third player shoots,
first player again, second player again, etc,

When someone says "pass" he does not shoot anymore and he just receives fire.

Manolios. This is the best pattern for the shoot-out. That was my intended rules. Each player shoot just one bullet then continue other player...
But of course, the game is not broken, if somebody will play it in the way, that one player shoot all bullets and after that continue next player.
