Hi,

At the start of a mission,

1 - Can you place your aircraft in an hex containing enemy units ?

2 - Can your plane hover at low altitude even if it's in an hex surrounded by ridges ?
Like, if at turn minus 1 (before the start of the mission) the plane had to go in high altitude to enter the starting hex, if the pilot did not want to make an evasive roll.

Thank you for your help

a) yes

b) When placing a plane on a hex edge that has a ridge on turn -1, it must be high altitude (for popup enemies). Then, when it's the pilot's turn to move, you can make him go low and do not have to roll for the ridge (as you never roll for the ridge edge your plane starts on)

1. Yes You can. And You even have to in many situations.
2. You have to set altitude to high, only if You place Your aircraft on hex edge with a ridge. So if You set aircraft in hover You always can start on low altitude.
