I would like to call out a part of the video where Rodney Spoke about Comic Books. How he transitioned from Visual Comic Buys and Branding over to Seeking the writers First.

I agree that writing comics and board game design is a very strong analogy. With that said, if you were to spin it and metaphor game designers to the comic artists. You would see where a group of the best comic book illustrators felt they were the reason for sales. This gave birth to Image Comics. Resulting in a larger royalty for the artist and (sadly) creative writing control.

For better or worse it happened in comics in 1991.
