Hi,

Im thinking of having a standing game between me and my colleague at the office.
It has to be relatively small since we have limited desk space, have game mechanics that requires thinking (not too much luck) and turn-based in that way that one can play turns alone and leave it until the other plays.

The obvious suggestion would be chess but we're at too different skill level. Other games we've came up with is Go.

Does anyone have any suggestions of a game?

Thanks.

What types of games are you interested in?
For now all of these are based on: abstracts with low luck and small footprints.

Might also have something like Pandemic.

I think games that would work the best for something like this would have a small footprint and low interaction (or, better yet, uninterrupted turns).

Depending on how much space one of the GMT COIN Series games might work. Or Labyrinth: The War on Terror, 2001 – ?, though there is some break-up to the turns if you play the other side's events.. But in the COIN series Cuba Libre might be best. You each could play 2 sides.

I´d like to suggest my Cairo Corridor.

- no luck
- turn based
- does not need much space

Roll Through the Ages: The Bronze Age is a pretty good one for work. Very portable and decently quick to play.

I assume playing games at work doesn't lead to job loss?

I think Tash-Kalar: Arena of Legends would fit perfect.
Small setup. Requires thinking. Turns can be played alone - actually there is not much point in start planning what you want to do until it is your turn anyways.

Not for me it doesn't.

Some 2p hits:

Homesteaders
Haggis
Hive (pocket)
The Battle for Hill 218

I'd probably bring other games if I got sick of these. There are a slew of great 2p games out there. Innovation, Jambo, Citadels...
