Acer's ability means he can never be exhausted.

We have taken that to mean cards such as Cracking the Whip can be used multiple times on Acer.

Batiatus' house ability allows him to exhaust 2 gladiators to gain 2 gold. Suppose Batiatus has his 3 starting gladiators and then buys Acer. Does that mean he can now use his house ability 3 times? Each time with 1 starter + Acer, net result being the 3 starters are exhausted, Batiatus gains 6 gold and Acer is still ready?

If this is true then Acer is by far the most valuable card for Batiatus, suddenly making him from below average to super strong. Last night we had a 6 player game where Batiatus acquired Acer in turn 2 and continued to collect the cheap gladiators. By end game he had 8 gladiators (7 + Acer) so he could potentially make 14 gold with Batiatus' ability per turn (Actually only 12 gold because he left Zephyros ready to fight so it was 6 + Acer).

We go the exact opposite, if he cant be exhausted he cant be used by batiatus for that purpose nor can the whip be cracked on him.

Claearly not. Exhausting 2 gladiators is the cost of the ability. If you dont pay you dont get the benefit.

Then what is the point? Basically he is a 3-3-3 who is resistant to injury and stuff like piss in your porridge. In other words another worthless middle tier gladiator.

Yeah, he's terrible. Alas, so is Batiatus.

Just wondering....can acer be injured as this would mean he becomes exhausted with a injury marker placed on top if him?

I like to play Acer + injury like this.

He is still injured and you still check to see if he recovers or dies.

He is not exhausted and can fight. If he gets a second injury result he dies.

We just play that he can't be injured ever. Or we would, if he ever got to fight. Which he doesn't, because he's so bad.

Laptop is resistant to the tummy aches from bad wine for sure. But he can't be exhausted which means you can't crack the whip on him because that requires an exhaust which is not possible with him. It's not like he exhausts and immediately unexhausts. He merely never exhausts in the first place - hence crack the whip doesn't work.
