I'm in the unenviable, but probably fairly common, position of struggling to come up with ideas for Christmas presents for myself from my wife and daughter. I have listed one or two games, but I'd like to suggest something else. I'm not sure what, but accessories such as a dice tower (which I already have) come to mind.

I'm hoping folk here can make suggestions.

Thanks

Andy

Re: What to get a Wargamer for Christmas
I always like to have a muse nearby when battling (especially when the dice are going against me). King & Country makes a nice selection of highly detailed figures, many representing generals or country leaders (Lincoln, Churchill, etc.) that fill the role of muse for me.

And of course while my opponent is distracted by closely examining the detail of the mini, the opportunity for a surprise flank maneuver (vis-a-vis Stonewall at Chancellorsville) increases dramatically...

If you're a self-respecting gamer, you have one of these already, and the Koplow Dice Trays are VERY handy.

If you're into art you might try a Don Troiani print. His new signed prints go for $225 and he does a soldier sub-series that go for $50.

The Coat of Arms of Clan Montgomery - Scotland. Yes, that's a woman with the head of a savage in her hand, and an anchor. No clue what it means, but it's cool.

On the cheaper side, consider gaming tweezers if you play hex and counter games and don't have a set already.

Never play block wargames with a dentist, they have those little mirrors to peek behind the block.

They are an investment, like putting money in the bank. They will go up in value over time. I don't have a Troiani but I have Dale Gallon's Pride of Erin in my livingroom. A friend of mine from reenacting has some of the older Troiani prints, probably worth in the thousands now. If I every hit the lottery I would commision him to do a print of the 8th TN (US) at the Battle of Utoy Creek (Atlanta Campaign).
