We here at CMG have so many ideas it's crazy.

There is something about this game and it's theme that makes the wheels turn, and it's hard to stop!

Since we don't have to stop, and it's fun, this is GOOD!

Here at CMG there is a Huge list of ideas on this topic, but we're always open to more!

We have come up with some of these ideas in-house, but

Ole is like a machine pumping out great expansion ideas!

On top of that there is YOU!

Many of our best ideas have come from fans of the game!

Since we're having a great conversation about the board in a nearby BGG thread, I figured let's do a little brainstorming on possible expansions for release after the 2nd edition.

To help get this conversation rolling, here are some thoughts on this topic from one of our great backers for the 2nd edition over on Kickstarter...

"Expansion ideas...A side board (a la Flash Point) with Harbor/Docks Operations. E.S.U. / S.W.A.T. units the list goes on..."

Items I would like to see in expansions:

1. More event cards
2. More police officers


I would like to see the event deck get to the point where every event doesn't tend to happen every game. The "hey the escort the van" card hasn't come up yet and we are almost through the deck so someone needs to head over that way to wait for it. With keeping game balance it could be handled like in Ghost Stories in which you play with 55 cards but if you have 65 cards (from expansions) you randomly remove 10 cards. That way you don't know all the events in the deck.

More officers, IMO in coop games the biggest change keeping the game fresh is changing the role in which you play, so more officers please cool

I think of something like "wrong evidence" where you don't just collect the evidence but also have to proof that it's the evidence you need - for example the victim was shot but you found a knife. Can't tell exactly how to arrange it right now but I try to catch the idea to tell nor precisely what I mean wow

I second these ideas. It's always awesome to have more choice in characters.

And I agree that I hate how often certain events come up, I'm looking at you Street Riots *shakes fist*.

Starsky and Hutch with Ford Torino
Officers Malloy and Reed with Adam 12 cruiser
Sgt. Friday and Officer Gannon with Dragnet unmarked vehicle
Sherlock Holmes and Watson with a steampunk-mobile
Murtaugh and Riggs with a Lethal weapon unmarked
Batman and Alfred (intel support) with specialty vehicle
Green Hornet and Kato with The Black Beauty

Starsky N Hutch idea.
Awesome.
Ideas on it:

Sometimes there are players who don't want to play. Or too many players.
An sometimes, two people play the same character as a team. (they don't want to be too involved in the game).
Yeah I know it's sad. But it happens.

With Duo's (two officers in a car) this can be done easily.
Rules wise I think we would need to hammer it out.
My thoughts.
The second player does not get his entire turn.
But could be dropped off to handle Punks and Emergencies.
You would have to have some type of penalty.
Such as remove 1 Punk from the Supply, in order to take this second action.

Edit-
For ease of remembering there would be 1 card per Character saying:
I am riding with "---". With "Joe Kinney"

2nd Edit.
This could be a use for the other side of the character sheet.
A simple (small sticker to cover the special ability.
Replacing one side with what you could do as a passenger.

It could be possible to use the "Two in a car" idea with situations where a player has to leave early. Or a player is coming later.

Excellent point!

this concept is great!!!

It could be used for father son, mother daughter, etc etc

(where two players are of vastly different Skill levels)

Casual player with alpha gamer or age difference, etc.

I'm gonna email you in a second.

This idea brings back memories of all the other great ideas you have had over the many months with this game.

I want to see you carry this one all the way!

Don't forget Gunther Toody and Francis Muldoon

Will the cars have special abilities? Or give the officer(s) (ie: the player(s) special abilities?

I also like the idea of having more cards than you need. As someone mentioned above, you may only use 50 cards weather you have 60, 70, or 100. This keeps re-playability high so every game will be different and you can't anticipate events (again as someone stated, a certain card has not yet come out and the deck is nearly empty, the players can plan ahead)

@Common Man Games - it's MY expansion, Joe is just doing all the detailed work that I'm too swamped to do. I still get mentioned in the credits at the end of the movie though.

@Jason - Bah, nothing that a little royalty money won't fix! As a matter of fact, they should pay Common Man Games for reviving a dead property. cool

I am jumping off
Kelly N.'s Starsky and Hutch Duo idea.

However, I'm not thinking it as actually trying to use tv cop names.
Just simply using the officers already in the game and having the ability to put two cops in 1 Car.

Even to the point of this expansion Idea:
Could be what becomes written on the other side of the character sheet.
Replacing Special abilities, are actions that officers not driving the car can do.

This Passenger Officer. Could be dropped off to handle punks while the main officer continues on to invisetigate the murder.

Or to handle an emergency, or to even Investigate the murder him/her self.

He/she could add a Die to other cops. And could even move 1 space per turn.
Or be picked up by other Officers driving past.

This would obviously make the game a tiny bit easier.
So there needs to be some flaws. ??

Help me come up with flaws.

Could be used/abused as an end-game rush. Having normal players characters hop in others cars so as to get that extra action.



As for more Event cards.
The giant Pile of event cards for Battlestar Galactica. Is what makes the game.
Always different.
As for running out of event cards.
It's never happened.
