Time for one more game before calling it an evening. Darren departed,
leaving 7 of us. Keith called for Sticheln and, even though the box
calls for a maximum of 6 players, we saw no reason it wouldn't work with
7 players. Four cards are discarded so that everyone can have an equal
hand. Sure enough, it worked just fine and was particularly vicious.

We played four rounds and the game was very close throughout. Spouey
and I were tied entering the third round, but we both faired poorly in
that round. However, his positive 3 points was enough to nudge him into
the lead. Several other players were all within striking distance,

The final round was also very close. Everyone managed positive scores,
but John's triumph in the final hand was enough to vault him past Spouey
and claim the victory. Interestingly, if either Spouey or I had won
that final hand, we would have won! Amazingly close!

Round-by-round cumulative scores:

Round 1: Greg 10, Spouey 9, John 1, Keith 0, Joey 0, Dave -7, Steven
Round 2: Greg 15, Spouey 15, Keith 8, John 6, Dave 0, Joey -1, Steven
Round 3: Spouey 18, Greg 14, John 12, Keith 10, Joey 2, Steven -5, Dave
Round 4: John 32, Spouey 25, Greg 23, Keith 17, Joey 15, Steven 2, Dave

Ratings: Dave 8, Greg 8, Keith 8, Joey 7, Spouey 7, John 7
