DB S2 expands the base DreadBall game providing new campaign options.

These include:
-Three types of coaches
-New player abilities
-Four new teams
-FAQ from Season 1 for convenient reference.

The four teams are more sophisticated than the four teams that introduced the game in Season 1. Consensus seems to be that they are not specifically better* but they are different in playstyle. The new teams include tall ET-type aliens called the Judwan; shape-shifting robots; alien insectoids called the Z'zor; and an all-female human Corporation team.

Cheerleaders can be purchased for exhibition matches and campaign play.
They are placed along the scoring track and allow a fan check (that can net bonus 'coaching dice' for you) whenever you score and land on the score where they stand.

The coaching staff (players of the game are actually referred to as a Head Coach) you can buy for exhibition and campaign matches expand your options. Offensive and defensive coaches help with on the field play in their respective roles. Supporting coaches, the third category, help you reposition cheerleaders so you can have a better chance of getting support from the crowd's wild cheering and support.

Some new abilities are associated specifically with the newly introduced teams while the others are designed for campaign/exhibition play.
Regardless of how you employ them, they do spice up a standard stable of players with new options. While you would expect new skills to make players better some are used to change the game up, too. For example, Pacificism is a Judwan only (so far) trait that prevents them from intentionally injuring opposing players---unique in a game that encourages hurting the other team with rewards of possible bonus dice.
Taken all together, they add nice variety without going too overboard.

If you like DreadBall and want to expand your play options, DB S2 is a solid addition to your collection.

*Judwan teams did so well for a few months after release that they were 'nerfed' stat-wise; their win records have become less dramatic as a result.
