We are in turn 2 of a 6-player game, need to give Selim II to the Ottoman as it was not dealt out. How do we pull Selim II from the deck in ACTS?

You don't.

The Ottoman player just remembers that he has Selim II in his hand. Some people mark it in the home card played section of ACTS. If someone else draws Selim II that turn, he just hands it to the Ottoman and draws a replacement.

When Selim II comes in Turn 3 or later, whoever draws it immediately plays it for the event and draws a replacement.

Other option will be using Murad III card as Selim II.

If a player draws the change can easyly be made. If not the Murad III card is only for random discard purposes (witchcraft, knights...)

Our problem is that the Ottoman forgot he had a virtual Selim II card and it did not get dealt out of the deck, so it is Winter turn 2. We thought we could pull Selim II from the deck and place it on the Ottoman home card by drawing and discarding until Selim II is found. We have not dealt cards out for turn 3 so picking through probably half the remaining deck is not too bad. Is this an unreasonable approach?

Frank, are you talking about ACTS now, or VASSAL? If the latter, please contact me.

If you're talking about ACTS, yes, it's unreasonable. You don't have to do that.

Yes, in this game we are using ACTS and VASSAL. I know we can get the card from the deck in VASSAL VQ for the power card. We were thinking it would be good to pull it from the ACTS deck now as well to avoid another possible mistake when Selim II has been forgotten. But we'll just keep going and discard/redraw if we deal Selim II from the ACTS deck.

In ACTS, I believe it even says on the bottom of Selim II "If drawn on Turn 3 or later...."

There's really no chance of making a mistake if you read the card.

This is how it's played. I wouldn't worry about it.
