Hello all,

i am about to buy the base set. i would like to also buy 4 expansions with it.

Should I buy two good side and two bad to balance?

What all should I order to get a balanced set?

Let me know your ideas.

It seems like you're intending to provide both sides, rather than just having your own teams, and playing with set owners.
I'm personally a fan of the small ships in particular.
if sticking with small ships, it's almost a 2:1 ratio for imps:rebels.
depending on the ships.

Some people would recommend getting another base set, too.

good luck!

A second base set would be the best value for the money. You get 3 ships, plus a second set of components for the cost of less than 3 ships purchased individually. And you still maintain some balance between the two sides.

If you don't want a 2nd core set, which is the best value but if you want to stay small.

I'd say a B-Wing and A-Wing for rebels. A Tie Interceptor and Tie Fighter for Imps.

That will give the most variety.

Welcome! You are about to take your first steps into a larger world!

The sweet suggestion is the 2 base sets!

If you prefer expansions as well, Pick a few favorite ships and run with them! There are some squad builders online that can help you try to learn some point values for the ships, but to start the game, I love the classic TIE vs X-Wing fights. If you can find them, my favorite pilots in the game came in the TIE and X-Wing expansions.

Past those, the A wing and the Interceptor are quick and fun and play a little differently than the base ships.

I think the honestest answer is:

buy what you think is cool.

All of the expansions add something that will make your games a little different and thus more interesting. If you aren't playing competitively, and can focus on "fun" rather than "optimised", all the the expansions add something fun and any of them can be worth it, and by using high-end pilots you can build decent lists with 4 Imperials fighting 3 Rebels.

You will want more dice than the base set includes, however. Even with just the base set ships, it's common to need 4 dice - and it only comes with three (of each type).
