Is this specialist really worth three stars? Every time I play a game which includes it I never buy it. It just seems that there are always better specialists available and I never seem to get a final tally would be worth repeating the next time. Plus it can only be used once.

I think If this only cost two stars it would be worth it.

I would have to disagree. Although specialists such as the Captain are more valuable than the C.P., that doesn't mean it isn't worth three stars. If you have the Captain you can easily make combos. Sometimes you can even roll two soldier bonuses at once and being able to copy that is huge. It depends on your rolls though. I had one game where I did roll two soldier RWB's and with the C.P. I was able to win easily. Or if you can get a huge item roll then being able to copy that will ensure you get plenty of the best items.

With the C.P. focus on one of the areas: Soldiers, items, leadership, maybe even courage if you want awards, and go for broke. Usually I wait until a lucky roll where it is clear I have a majority of soldiers and then see what I can pick up with the next few rolls. Then with a little luck you can use the C.P.

Also thanks a lot, now I have to get out my copy (and calculator) to play.

Keeping track of my soldiers. I'm terrible at mental math.

Also looking back at the scenarios that include the C.P., I think I have easily won all of them without him. So it just depends on how you roll. I could see your argument for him costing two stars because you are taking a risk with him more so than any other specialist.
