Can a Terrace tourist 'see' water past another tourist on a Terrace on the same orthogonal line? That is, ; from left to right as an example;a line has a water zone, a water zone, a terrace with a tourist, another terrace with a tourist; is that 4 points, 2 for each Tourist? or just 2 points for the nearest Tourist with 'unobstructed' view?

No. In fact, the tourist can't see through a terrace even without a tourist.

Who cares! As long as you had fun while playing!

yeah, my wife insists we continue to score 'wrongly'. She claims if a tourist is able to see past an attraction, then seeing past a terrace is no problem!

But I can find no explanation of the rule in the z-man game I have.

While I like the thought that a tourist will enjoy water all around the HUGE terrace they're sitting on while sipping coffee or eating lunch, I think the correct way makes scoring terraces more fun.

That said, I agree with above: if you had fun, who cares! Play both and decide which you prefer....

scores are a little lower(high 20s +/- 4-5 points), but got the wife to agree to score adjacent and orthogonally continuous water only for a coupla games this eveneing. no breaks or views past other attractions/terraces. It isn't prohibited in the rules, but the example does NOT show any breaks or views past terraces, parks or attractions.

Makes the game slightly more brain-bending.

Aren't you making some more mistakes? Usual scores in the game are around 50-60 points.

we are only playing at the Dilemma level - we may graduate to the adjacent/bordering scoring at some point. That is probably why the scores seem low - though I suppose we are just poor/novice players or have been overlooking some other mistake as you say.
